Breast Procedures >> Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is the type of surgery which is opted by women to restore the size of the breasts after removal. Although breast reconstruction can help rebuild the breasts but results are quite variable.
The patients who only have had one breast removed due to breast cancer or other medical reasons can opt for reconstruction of one breast. A breast augmentation or reduction can be recommended for the opposite breast to improve the size, position, and symmetry of both the breasts.
The procedure of breast reconstruction typically involves usage of autologous tissue or prosthetic material to construct a natural looking breast. This procedure at often times also involves reformation of nipple or natural looking areola. The cosmetic surgeon may choose tissue expander breast implants and a form of flap reconstruction for the procedure based on the individual requirements.
